Aaron Moss has allowed us to reprint his blog post of May 11, 2025 (two days after the report released), “Five Takeaways the Copyright Office’s Controversial AI Report.” Then, on May 22, 2025, Shira Perlmutter, the Register of Copyright, filed a lawsuit for unlawful firing against Todd Blanche, Paul Perkins, Sergio Gor, Trent Morse, the Executive Office of the President, and Donald Trump. Full disclosure: Perlmutter is a long-time member of the Journal’s advisory board. And of course, Aaron Moss also wrote a blog post about the firing and the lawsuit, and so we asked again for permission to reprint. For the sake of newsworthiness and the historical record, we have included the full complaint as part of this issue.
