Strategic Advisor at OpenAI
Fred von Lohmann is a strategic adviser at OpenAI, where he previously served as Deputy General Counsel for Copyright. He also serves as an adviser to the American Law Institute’s (ALI) Restatement of Copyright project. Before joining OpenAI, he was the Legal Director for Copyright at Google, a senior staff attorney with the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF), a research fellow at the Berkeley Center for Law and Technology, and an associate with the law firm of Morrison & Foerster LLP. Fred received both his undergraduate and law degrees from Stanford University.
