SPEAKERS Heidi Garfield is Assistant General Counsel – IP & Litigation at Shutterstock, Inc., where she is responsible for all matters related to worldwide intellectual property enforcement and prosecution, litigation, content protection & acquisition strategies and global intellectual property standards and practices. Heidi is responsible for the development and implementation of IP protection strategies to best address Shutterstock’s role as a licensing intermediary. Prior to joining Shutterstock, Heidi was in the IP group at Greenberg Traurig and, before that, the Commercial Litigation group at Sidley Austin. Andrew Gerber is a founding member of Kushnirsky Gerber PLLC. Andrew focuses his practice on copyright, trademark, and employment disputes, primarily representing artists and other creative professionals. Andrew has represented a number of street artists in copyright litigation and related disputes, most recently Ahol Sniffs Glue against American Eagle Outfitters and Typoe, Bikismo, Ahol, Santiago Rubino, Martin Whatson, Magnus Sodamin and others against Trinity Church and Vous Church. He has also represented tattoo artist Bang Bang on a range of legal issues. Prior to launching his own firm in 2013, Andrew was an associate at Proskauer Rose and Kilpatrick Townsend. Philippa S. Loengard (Moderator) is the Deputy Director of the Kernochan Center for Law, Media and the Arts at Columbia Law School, where her scholarship focuses on copyrights and related rights, especially as they relate to the visual arts. She also teaches a seminar in law and the visual arts at the Law School and is a consultant to various nonprofit arts organizations. She graduated from Columbia where she was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar and an Articles Editor on the Columbia Journal of Law and the Arts. Additionally, she holds an LL.M. in Taxation from N.Y.U. School of Law, a B.A. from Cornell University and an M.A. from Stanford University.
