Judge Beetlestone received her judicial commission to the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania on November 21, 2014.  Judge Beetlestone was born in Nigeria, was a journalist at BBC and CNN, a news producer at Channel 10, and then pursued her longstanding interest in the law by attending the University of Pennsylvania Law School.  She interned for Judge Jan E. DuBois and served as a law clerk for the late Judge Robert Gawthrop, III.  Judge Beetlestone was an associate, then partner, at Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis LLP where she practiced civil litigation.  She then served as the General Counsel for the School District of Philadelphia before returning to the private practice as a shareholder at Hangley Aronchick Segal Pudlin & Schiller.  Judge Beetlestone was active in numerous community and professional organizations before taking the bench.
