About

Barbara Bruni is Counsel in the Office of Policy and International Affairs at the U.S. Copyright Office. Previously, she was Counsel at Sesame Workshop in New York, where she advised on a broad range of intellectual property and commercial transactional matters. She received her J.D. from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where she was a staff editor of the Cardozo Law Review, and completed the WIPO–University of Turin LL.M. program in Intellectual Property Law.
Her interests include international and comparative intellectual property law. She received the 2021 AIPPI Essay Prize for her paper examining moral rights in photographic works in Italy, Germany, and the United States and has published scholarship in the Journal of the Copyright Society. Prior to becoming an attorney, Barbara worked in independent film production in the United States and Europe.
