The explosion of digital radio platforms such as Pandora and Spotify, designed to fill the musical needs of a wide range of niche audiences by providing customized playlists to fit every mood, has raised new questions about the traditional role of radio in the music industry. Our panel will discuss the recent developments in digital radio, the inherent challenges (including the debate over royalty rates and the FiMLA), and the legal and business effects on the music industry.
