Separating Rights from Wrongs: The Ethics of Enforcement

The New York Chapter invites you to attend the first program of its 2014-15 season to discuss ethics in copyright enforcement.

Katie Lachter, partner at Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP, will take us through the ethical issues that arise when a lawyer is enforcing IP rights for a client, receiving a cease-and-desist letter in a client matter, and when she or he is aware that a client may be infringing a third party’s copyright.  The program will also touch on how social media plays a role in attorney conduct when representing copyright owners and users for enforcement matters.

The Copyright Society of the USA is a New York State Approved CLE Provider. This course will provide 1 ethics credit.
