When: February 8, 2022 at 12:30pm - 1:30pm EST - This event has passed

Copyright law hasn’t changed, but how social media users interact with copyrighted materials certainly has. This session will discuss how social media user’s perceptions, understanding, and respect for copyright law and copyrighted works has changed. With ease, a social media user can upload music, overlay a sound recording, screen grab, and stream, the social media platforms seem to be built on copyright infringement. Topics to be considered are: attribution as a cure-all, transformative and fan works, licensing models, and terms and conditions.
