As creators build audiences across YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and beyond, they face a thicket of legal and business issues—from copyright ownership and music use to monetization terms, endorsement deals, and brand integrations. This program will explore how creators protect and enforce their rights by looking at the relationship between a creator and her counsel. Moving through the stages of her career as an influencer, CeCe Olisa will speak to the challenges she faced and what she learned, while her counsel, Marcie Cleary, will speak about what advocacy and advice look like in the influencer economy. We’ll also examine the legal mechanics behind sponsorships, product placement, and revenue sharing across platforms.
