Cross-Border Copyright Foundations

As copyright is increasingly exploited across national borders, differences in copyright regimes across major markets can create challenges and give rise to unexpected issues for practitioners. Our international panel of experts will explore core principles of copyright law in their respective jurisdictions, including (i) copyright subsistence and thresholds of originality; (ii) authorship and ownership of copyright; (iii) term, termination, reversion, and registration; (iv) formalities and considerations relating to assignment and licensing; (v) infringement and exceptions; (vi) differing treatments of moral rights; and (v) available remedies.
