Creditors & Copyright: Secured Transactions, Bankruptcy & Related Issues

When: June 30, 2016 at 12:00pm - 1:30pm EDT - This event has passed

Bankruptcy. Though not as certain as death and taxes, it is a possibility that businesses cannot afford to ignore, especially those in the entertainment and high-tech industries, where copyrights are key assets. Not only does a bankruptcy filing have drastic consequences on the future ownership and use of valuable intellectual property assets, but the bankruptcy laws may treat those assets differently from more traditional assets like cash, inventory, and equipment. Copyright owners, licensees, and practitioners should have a basic understanding of bankruptcy law so that they can better prepare for the possibility and thus better preserve value.

Lunch will be provided.

APPROVED: 1.00 Texas CLE Credit
