Rom Bar-Nissim

Los Angeles Chapter | Law Offices of Lincoln Bandlow
Rom Bar-Nissim is the co-chair of the Los Angeles Chapter of the Copyright Society. He is a media attorney at the Law Offices of Lincoln Bandlow, P.C. and his practice focuses on media litigation, counseling and transactions. Rom has devoted his entire career to copyright law, speech related torts, the First Amendment and other intellectual property issues. His very first case was drafting amicus briefs for the seminal Garcia v. Google, Inc., 786 F.3d 733 (9th Cir. 2015). Later, Rom was the primary draftsman for the prevailing defendants in Hosseinzadeh v. Klein, 276 F.Supp.3d 34 (S.D.N.Y. 2017) – which clarified fair use in the digital space and the law governing DMCA counter-notifications. Since 2014, Rom has been a contributing author and co-executive editor for the CEB/Lexis publication California Internet Law & Practice – where he authors the chapters on copyright and speech related torts.

Lauren Simmonds

Los Angeles Chapter | Netflix
Lauren Simmonds is the Counsel of Intellectual Property at Netflix, since 2019. Before that, she has worked for NBCUniversal Media, LLC as Counsel of Intellectual Property and before that as Manager of IP Rights. Lauren is a Case Western Reserve University School of Law graduate and Boston University undergraduate.
