Scott M. Martin Scott Martin served as Executive Vice President of Intellectual Property at Paramount Pictures from 1992-2025, where he was responsible for intellectual property policy, rights acquisitions, copyrights and trademarks, production clearances, content protection strategy, film preservation, market access challenges, and WIPO negotiations. He is now a consultant on intellectual property, artificial intelligence, and related challenges. Scott served as an Associate in Law at Columbia Law School, an adjunct professor at the University of Southern California Gould School of Law, and a guest lecturer at the University of Southern California Thorton School of Music. He served on behalf of the U.S. State Department as a copyright law consultant in Estonia, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Latvia and Lithuania. Scott holds undergraduate degrees from Skidmore College and the Université de Paris (L’Institut d’Études Politiques), an M.A. and J.D. from American University, and an LL.M. from Columbia University. He is a member of the board of the National Film Preservation Foundation.
