American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers ("ASCAP")



Sam Mosenkis is the Vice President of Legal Affairs at the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (“ASCAP”) where he counsels on issues related to music licensing, copyright and entertainment-related contracts, legislation and regulation, as well as general in-house affairs. On behalf of publishers and songwriters, Sam has negotiated licensing deals with a wide array of users, has authored numerous briefs and position papers filed before various Federal courts and agencies, and has been instrumental in the drafting and introduction of copyright-related legislation. Sam regularly speaks on copyright and music licensing issues. 

Prior to joining ASCAP, he was associated with the tax and litigation groups of White & Case LLP and clerked for the Hon. James Halpern of the U.S. Tax Court.  Sam holds a B.A., magna cum laude, from Yeshiva University and a J.D., magna cum laude, from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where he was an Editor of the Cardozo Law Review.
