Roland Trope

Roland Trope is a partner at Trope and Schramm LLP in New York City, and served as Adjunct Professor in the Departments of Law and of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, U.S. Military Academy at West Point (1997 – 2024). Mr. Trope has a national security practice. He advises on government procurement, intellectual property under government contracts, export controls, economic sanctions, reviews by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS), cybersecurity, and AI. He co-chairs the ABA Cybersecurity Legal Task Force, is chair of the AI Subcommittee for the New York City Bar Association’s Council on Intellectual Property, was Vice-Chair of the ABA Task Force on Artificial Intelligence, and is a Co-Host for the ABA podcast, Exploring AI Matters (https://www.exploringaimatters.com).

Mr. Trope has authored more than 30 articles and co-authored or co-edited ABA books and chapters, including Guide to Cybersecurity Security Due Diligence in M&A Transactions. His recent articles include:
