Richard H. Reimer Senior Vice President, Business and Legal Affairs American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) Mr. Reimer joined the Society’s Office of General Counsel as a staff attorney in 1971, and has served as Senior Attorney, Assistant General Counsel, Deputy General Counsel, Director of Legal Affairs and Managing Attorney, and Vice-President, Legal Services. He is currently Senior Vice President, Business and Legal Affairs, and is responsible for all aspects of litigation involving ASCAP. He has had a major role in ASCAP’s antitrust litigation and rate court proceedings to determine ASCAP license fees, federal and state lobbying activities, the conduct of infringement litigation on behalf of ASCAP’s members, and grievance proceedings brought by members before the ASCAP Board of Review. Mr. Reimer advises ASCAP’s members, its membership and licensing staff, and others on a wide range of issues involving performing rights. He has also argued appeals of ASCAP’s infringement cases in the federal circuit courts, lectured at law schools, and participated in government, bar association and CLE Intellectual Property seminars and conferences throughout the United States, including past Fordham Intellectual Property Conferences.
