Linda Zirkelbach

Linda Zirkelbach is a Chambers USA ranked copyright and trademark attorney with 20 years of experience. She has extensive experience representing large clients in a range of intellectual property (IP) matters, with a focus on leading IP enforcement actions for major companies, publishing law, strategic IP counselling and clearance work, digital media and rights issues, and trademark strategy and disputes. Linda has particularly deep experience and knowledge of the markets in the publishing, software and music industries. Linda regularly counsels clients on complex copyright and trademark issues; litigates in the areas of copyright and trademark, negotiates and drafts copyright and trademark license agreements, publishing agreements, and other IP agreements; and reviews and clears publications and other productions prior to launch.

Prior to becoming a partner at Venable LLP, Linda held two high level in-house legal positions and deeply understands the needs of her clients. First, Linda was Vice President, Legal Affairs, for the Recording Industry Association of America where she litigated cutting-edge, high-profile anti-piracy cases for the U.S. record companies and developed expertise in very sophisticated copyright issues and significant contacts in the content industry. Second, Linda then became Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of a leading educational publishing company where she handled all of the company’s legal matters with a heavy emphasis on publishing law, transactional copyright and trademark matters.
