Jonathan Kirsch is a copyright, trademark and intellectual property attorney based in Los Angeles, an expert witness on publishing industry matters, and a lecturer and consultant on publishing matters. He has long served as general counsel of the Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA).

Kirsch is the author of thirteen books, including Kirsch’s Handbook of Publishing Law, Kirsch’s Guide to the Book Contract, Kirsch is also the book editor of The Jewish Journal, a contributor of book reviews to the Washington Post, a former longtime book reviewer for the Los Angeles Times, and the author of 13 books of history and biography, including The Short, Strange Life of Herschel Grynszpan: A Boy Avenger, a Nazi Diplomat, and a Murder in Paris (W. W. Norton/Liveright).
