Eric Mayzel

Eric Mayzel is an intellectual property and commercial litigation lawyer. He advises and represents clients across a broad range of industries, including music, film and TV, franchising, and manufacturing. He has acted in ground-breaking copyright hearings before the Copyright Board of Canada and the Supreme Court of Canada and has been active as a strategic advisor to clients in parliamentary reviews of the Canadian Copyright Act. Eric is a founding co-chair of the Toronto chapter of the Copyright Society, has previously served on the executive of the Ontario Bar Association IP/IT section, and regularly coaches a mooting team in the Harold Fox Intellectual Property moot. Eric has been recognized as a leader in his field by Best Lawyers in Canada, ManagingIP, Lexpert, and Legal500.
