Koerner Endowed Professor of LawTulane University Law School Dr. Elizabeth Townsend Gard (she/her) is the John E. Koerner Endowed Professor of Law at Tulane University Law School. She published her first piece with the Journal in 2007: “Unpublished Works and the Public Domain: The Opening of a New Frontier.” She is known for her work on the Durationator copyright system and the Just Wanna Quilt podcast. She holds a Ph.D. in European History from UCLA (focused on the cultural expression of war), and a J.D./LL.M. in International Trade from the University of Arizona. She currently studies the intersection of creativity with copyright in different forms. She is the co-author with Sid Gard of the Just Wanna series with C&T Publishing, including Just Wanna Trademark for Makers (2023) and Just Wanna Copyright for Makers (forthcoming 2024).
