Colin Rushing Executive Vice President and General Counsel DiMA Colin Rushing is a seasoned music industry executive and lawyer with deep expertise in digital music rights, collective management, statutory licensing, and copyright and media law. He has appeared on Billboard’s “Top Music Lawyers” list multiple times for his work on critical legal and regulatory issues and proceedings. Colin was formerly the Chief Legal Officer at SoundExchange, where he drove the company’s legal and regulatory strategy and played a key role in a number of public policy initiatives, including the Music Modernization Act. Before SoundExchange, Colin was an attorney at Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr, where he focused on intellectual property and media law. He attended the University of Virginia School of Law and clerked for the Honorable T.S. Ellis III on the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. He is on the boards of the Copyright Society of the South and the Give a Note Foundation, a graduate of Leadership Music, and a member of the adjunct faculty at Belmont University.
