Charles-Edouard Renault

Charles-Edouard Renault is involved in entertainment activities, film finance & production and media industry, active in counsel and litigation. He is also involved in the creation of films funds in France (SOFICA, Equity Funds, Tax incentive vehicles) and active in film finance.

Charles-Edouard is also an arbitrator on AAA, OMPI and SCC panels. He has handled arbitration matters with ICC, dealing with infrastructures, transport and digital.

Charles-Edouard is working since February 2022 on the consequence of the War of agression in Ukraine (sanctions policy, cross borders litigation, compensation of war damages). He has published several papers on the state immunity limits for agressor state.

Charles-Edouard gave lectures at the Lyon III University, Science Po Paris Communication School, for the Erich Pommer Institut GmbH für Medienrecht in Berlin, Vienna and Vilnius since 2006 and with WIPO in Mexico and Manila since 2010.

He also regularly writes for French and Anglo-Saxon publications. He initiated the seven special issues of Gazette du Palais on Entertainment Law, of which he was the publisher.
