Dr. Emma Perot Senior Lecturer with Tenure at the Faculty of Law, UWI, St Augustine Co-Director of Clover Consultancy Dr Emma Perot is a Senior Lecturer with Tenure at the Faculty of Law, UWI, St Augustine. She is also Co-Director of Clover Consultancy where she provides Intellectual Property Management services. Emma received her PhD in Intellectual Property from King’s College London where she was a fully funded Dickson Poon Scholar. Prior to her PhD, Emma obtained her LLM with Distinction from UCL, was called to the UK Bar as a Kennedy Scholar at Lincoln’s Inn and achieved her LLB with First Class Honours at the University of Kent as a Chancellor’s Scholar. Emma is dedicated to advancing the economic return of Caribbean industries through effective intellectual property protection and commercialisation. She conducted a workshop funded by the Inter-American Development Bank via the CATAPULT grant, co-created a series of videos on the theme ‘Youth and IP’ for World IP Day, and has delivered several public lectures on topics such as the role of IP in engineering, sports, film, advertising, and entertainment. She has served on the National Steering Committee for Digital Innovations for Sustainable Environmental and Economic Recovery in Trinidad and Tobago and sits on the UWI St Augustine Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship IP sub-committee. Further afield, she has provided expert evidence on digital replicas to researchers at the University of Tilburg, a British Academy Fellow, and has been cited by the British Equity Collecting Society in evidence for the UK House of Lords Communications and Digital Select Committee Inquiry on AI and Copyright. Emma was awarded the ‘Most Outstanding Faculty Researcher’ for Law at the Principal’s Research Awards 2023.
