Matt Skelton Assistant General Counsel, Gaming Microsoft Matt Skelton is Assistant General Counsel, Gaming, at Microsoft and a frequent speaker on copyright and technology issues. In his current role, Matt leads global policy advocacy and regulatory compliance for the Xbox business on key areas such as AI, monetization, and consumer protection. Matt has also supported development of numerous game titles, and publishing and IP licensing for several game franchises including Halo, Microsoft Flight Simulator, Age of Empires, and Gears of War. He has also taught copyright at Seattle University School of Law, and volunteers time with Washington Lawyers for the Arts. Prior to Microsoft, Matt was an Attorney-Advisor at the U.S. Copyright Office. He is a graduate of Antonin Scalia Law School, and Belmont University where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Music.
