If music publishing has always been confusing to you, this discussion should provide the keys to unlock your understanding. Date: February 25th, 2014 Time: Registration 12:30-1:00 PM, Panel 1:00-2:00 PM. Lunch will not be provided, so please bring your lunch. Cost: Early-bird rate is $10 Members, $20 Non-Members. Our distinguished panel of speakers will include: Susan Arnold, Vice President, Commercial Music, Group Sony/ATV Music PublishingSusan Arnold is an attorney whose practice has emphasized music business licensing transactions for more than 20 years. Susan’s music business career began when she was in-house counsel and business affairs VP for PMG. She served for four years as the head of Sony Music’s Product & Copyright Administration department, then for six years as the lead lawyer for EMI Music Publishing’s synch team. She is currently directing sync licensing business affairs for Sony/ATV’s Commercial Music Group. Michelle Bayer, President, Shelly Bay Music Michelle Bayer founded Shelly Bay Music in 2002 to help generate income streams for songwriters, music producers and independent labels as well collect publisher earnings in the ever-changing music business. Prior to opening the doors of Shelly Bay Music, Michelle was the head of Tommy Boy Publishing and Tracking Manager at EMI Music Publishing among other positions in her long career in music. Michelle currently teaches a course in the music business at Baruch College/CUNY. Monica Corton, Senior Executive Vice President, Creative Affairs & Licensing, Next Decade Entertainment, Inc. Monica Corton has been privileged to work with Next Decade Entertainment since 1991. Her responsibilities include signing new writers, negotiating, drafting and licensing all works published and administered by the company as well as overseeing the distribution of royalties. She has been a guest lecturer for the Copyright Society, the NMPA/HFA, the Hartt School of Music, the International Intellectual Property Conference at Fordham Law School and the Cutting Edge Music Conference. New York Chapter Brown Bag Lunches are a series of informal panel discussions on a range of copyright topics. Brown Bag Lunches are intimate and casual with ample opportunity for audience participation. In true brown-bag spirit, no food or drinks will be provided, so attendees are encouraged to bring their own.
