Judith
Finell is a musicologist and the president of Judith Finell Music Services
Inc., a music consulting firm in New York founded in 1985. She serves as an expert witness in music
copyright disputes, as well as a consultant on music selection and creation for
media and film companies. She has testified in many notable copyright
infringement trials over the past 20 years, and regularly advises Apple, LucasFilm,
HBO, Ogilvy & Mather, Warner, Disney, and Sony Pictures on musical works
for their productions. Ms. Finell frequently advises attorneys, advertising
agencies, entertainment and recording companies, publishing firms, and
musicians, addressing copyright issues, including those arising from electronic
technology and Internet musical usage.
